Plug and Play

Hi

I had a plug in port for Enternet in the side of my computer already so that was the answer! Cost - Nothing.

Ethernet. If you are going NTL Broadband the set top box uses an Ethernet connection which you can either plug into your computer or use the adaptor to plug into a USB port.
For the price of an ethernet card for a PC, cost a tenner from e-bay last time I bought one, you will have a more direct connection and I believe it will be a faster because you are not sharing the port.

I have NTL bband. Their supplied modem has USB & ethernet options.

I share the connection with 4 other PCs in the house so we use the ethernet connected to a wireless hub.

I only have 2 USB ports on my laptop so invested in a hub for printer, mouse etc.

I have to plug my wireless adapter into one of the PC USB ports as the hub cannot cope.

Do as Andy suggests and spend a tenner on an ethernet card for your PC. Just make sure you have a spare slot on your motherboard (you may be able to replace the modem card if you do not).
