Euro basemap in USA

I'm off to ride the Smokey Mountains on Monday, we're discussing routes etc, will my Euro 2610 work properly in USA?., or is it going to be just another thing I'm carrying?. If it's not going to help then I won't bother taking it.

It will work fine, but how useful it will be will depend on the maps you have loaded.

Ideally, you want North American City Navigator v6 but there are other Garmin maps that would get you about.

Whichever detailed maps you use, you should also load the Garmin WorldMap for the entire area you propose to travel in. That way, you would still get a decent display at lower zoom levels.

thanks for the reply, I will be taking it, it's loaded with the latest mapsource for USA so we'll see how it goes.. thanks for the info
