Hi all. We blogged our Europe trip this year but it was really a postcard back home rather than a full trip report. Don't know if anyone other than family and friends will find it interesting, but it's here if you fancy taking a look:

2 up with camping gear, 2756 miles on a 1200GSA in 17 days

Hey, nice blog. If only I could master the art of technology and write reports as we went round. All I can manage is a Youtube post in this forum of the Black Forest Roller Coaster!
I am still pulling my ride report together....maybe a post over winter to remind me and you lot of the summer ahead.

If you have any photos it would be great to see them, even though lots of us have done the same roads, its always great to see other pics........especially if you have one of Catherine popping her cherry!!!!(as you put it!!).:augie

Europe 2009 Blog

A fantastic write up Dave, I should have gone to bed hours ago .... :D
Just to add what Phantom1 has said ... wish I could write such an interesting blog and on the hoof so to speak. :thumb2
In September i`ll be in search for the best coffee and pastries myself and will be taking a similar route south to Porlezza on Lake Lugano.

Thanks Dakarnoway

Dave, Catherine....

thanks for a terrrific report. I almost felt that I was there with you.I am so glad the "incident" was not too serious and at least Catherine noe knows that even when you do have such problems getting back on the bike is the only thing to do.Thas another, in your words, biking cherry she has experienced.
Being a keen cyclist it was great to also read you shared some good times with our cycling friends. What is this thing between motorcyclists and cyclists !.As for the guy on the 3k racer thats what I aspire to but it will if ever have too come when I give up motorcycling.Mind you if I am to do it credit, I will have to lose a bit of weight before then.
Look forward to reading of your further adventures. regards Ted

Inspiring write up :thumb2

I'm booked on the Zeebrugge ferry next month with not as much time as you had but you have given me excellent food for thought.

Thanks for the great feedback chaps and I'm truly jealous of you guys that are heading out on your adventures. I've burned this years leave so I'm gonna have to wait a while before I ride out there again. Can't wait for next years trip though.

Late summer will be a great time to go. Time it right and it will be a little cooler and quieter. The wild figs growing by the Lakes should be in season, so you'll have tasty free snacks too!

One of these days, I might add a few photos to the blog. As it stands, it's just a great reminder of happy times. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to blogging but it's easy to enable email posts and send updates from a phone.

Ride safe and enjoy your travels. Cheers, Dave

Nice blog, glad to hear you were both ok after the crash.
GSA's have some niggles but they're tough bikes, I recently wrote mine off but although heavily damaged it would of still ridden if I'd been in the middle of nowhere so it doesn't surprise me that you continued your trip on yours :thumb2
