I was going to mention the extension arm that some of us have welded on the the oe sidestand.

Hi Val,
any pics of the welded mod ? I've just added a second PD to my stable, and it's Y Piece is so close to the frame that neither Surefoot or Migsel will fit.
Hate the BMW sidestand, but if it can be mod-ed , that would be great.
Migsel is indeed great ( have one on the other PD !), but at what price !!

And my MiGSel sidestand arrived today and now all fitted and raring to go.
Not cheap but a quality bit of kit.

Surely that hole on the left of the stand bracket should be mounted onto the engine
mounting bolt? That's how I attached mine, as well as the clamp around the frame
of course!

Yes indeed, you're very right.

Please don't use the stand as you have it mounted now!
The U-clamp alone will not hold it securely.

I had actually asked MiGSel via email and the picture link was sent to MiGSel as I thought it easier to explain by means of a photograph.
