I was at Vines on Saturday for the 1200 launch (and a hog roast bap from Bakerman). Started talking to Anton regarding a slight problem I have with my linked brakes who went and got the Service Manager for me. Had a great chat and we agreed I should bring the machine in - which I did yesterday.

Job was done in an hour - the young lad who did the work came out to me and told me what was wrong (and asked me to clean up my aftermarket wiring a little!). When it came to the bill it was No Charge and independently I showed them some slight under-paint rusting on my tank - "No problem sir - it's a warranty claim - bring it in and you can take the new 1200 (sports bike ) out for the day".

So 12k service booked after the Alsace trip. Many thanks Darren, Damian and the team. Well impressed.

me too. I collected my new 1200GS last week, and Duncan?( big guy with reddish hair, I'm terrible on names) took no end of care at the handover. I was introduced to the service dudes and picked up a tip or two, even at my advanced age! Penny also dealt with some agg I'd had with the carbon (£800!!) helmet I'd bought, but that's another story........

So far, so much better than Puke Drain who'd supplied my previous three bikes.

I meant the bloke at Vines, though , he did have a nasty cold.....

Duncan always has a cold (although more like flu 3 weeks ago)... just one of those guys who likes to (give and) share it with everyone else rather than stay in bed and get better quicker.

I shouldn't have shook his hand - that was stupid....

Darren at Vines is a good man

my top box came off the bike to land in the sand... my fault. the lock drum came off and would not clip back in now full of sand. told by irish dealer i'd need to order a new one. so went into vines to order on return from my adventure.

darren took the bit away to clean and oil and fitted it back onto the box....... yep no charge.

Hi

I just had excellent service at Vines. My 1200 shook off a heat deflector bolt from its Remus. Went in for a new bolt. None on stock so Damian took it rounfd the back and brought it back with a new pair of bolts, so they would match fitted with spring washers so it would not happen again.

Beats the hell out of "none in stock sir -- we'll order one "

Quentin
