I had my s1000r collected by my dealer for its 600 mile service ,my bike had done 603 miles which is also stamped in the book they had the bike front Wednesday afternoon until the following Tuesday afternoon.
However when I went for a ride yesterday afternoon I noticed it had done 653 miles and was in dynamic pro mode which I'd not used due to
me running it in ,why would they need to do 50 miles? I'm certain some petrol had been put in so I wouldn't notice !
Too late to phone them yesterday but I'll be asking the question on Monday.

Sounds like a bit of a joy ride to me unless they couldnt get something right and kept take it out on multiple test runs

That's my worry somebody been out ragging the arse out of it ,no issues with the bike it was just it's 1st service.

Don't they remove the limiter at the first service?

53 mile road test just to make sure it now bounces off the limiter at 13000rpm hence it being in SPORT mode

They do but does it need 50 miles to test it ?

Can you check via the connected app where it has been?

Keep an eye on youtube - if the dealer is stupid enough to go blasting for 50 miles then I bet they would have a camera on it also to show the bike bouncing off the rev limiter - in a more serious note - I would be bloody furious. I assume the dealer will be providing you with a new bike or suitable compensation.

I'm not sure what outcome I'd be satisfied with, but I'm fucking annoyed, might be time to change dealership after 10 years and 5 bikes

Mine is due its first service soon.
Think it’s the same dealer if in Shipley!!! Please let me know how you got on.

My second r1200gsa lc was in dealers for 2 days trying to get an ecu update to stick, it took 5 or 6 attempts and each one required a test ride, similarly my first r1200gsa lc was in dealers for weeks with telemetric recording kit fitted while they and BMW tried to work out why the electronic suspension kept on going tits up ( over 1000 miles and 20 plus ecu updates).

So it could be completely legit but you would think that the dealer would explain the miles when you picked it up , or it could be that they are just t a bunch of cnuts

Could you share the outcome? It will be interesting to hear their justification....
