Anyone have any experience of Camcoat (www.camcoat.com), as I'm thinking of getting the headers ceramic coated? Are there any companies that offer this sort of service down south?

I had Camcoat ceramic coat the pipes on my VFR. It wasn't successful. After they were blasted, it should have been obvious that they were too far gone and coating them wouldn't provide a durable finish. £250 (?) wasted. I took it up with them and they offered to do them again which would have been an equally pointless exercise.

However, I suspect that coating stainless steel pipes is a better proposition.

Zircotec

I emailed Zircotec last week to get a price.

A 50mm diameter pipe costs £29 per 30cms for the Primary black coating.

I was reading about this process on a thread on ADV Rider. I bookmarked a blog from a guy in the States who had had this process done.

My conversation with Zircotec left me with the impression that they were the only company to carry this process out. It reduces heat by 25%, even more if you go for the more expensive coating. The warranty is for a year., But apparently with a little care this is a lifetime application and should last much much longer.

I also got a quote from a local SS polisher who quoted me £70 for a polish.

Leaning toward a set of Keihan headers, I will lovingly clean them properly to keep them nice. The extra "driveability" will be welcome too :)

That bike looks awesome! Thanks for all the replies. Since I got the bike, I seem to be spending a lot of time polishing the headers. When I was at Vines a couple of weeks ago, a guy with a GSA had ceramic coated headers, and they looked awesome, and no more polishing. This got me thinking. But I only want to do it if it doesn't cost too much, and if the finish will last.

Has anyone else on here had this done?

Headers

Had it done on car headers. The coating peeled almost immediately.

Little unusual as the new cam needed running in for 20 mins at fairly high revs so got very hot.

Not impressed and not cheap.
