As above, mine were bright blue before hill-topped, after the tuning (enrichment) I spent a while cleaning off the old blue with solvol and it never returned, always straw brown after, the proper colour if the fueling is good.

I knew the blue colouring was caused by heat, the surprise is that a "correct" fuel mixture will keep the header below the "bluing" temperature range. I assumed prolonged hard running will also do the blueing thing, I am very happy to here that the "straw colour" will remain as long as the bike is running the correct (slightly rich) fuel mixture.
