Exhaust manifold recall

Had a letter today from Vines about a recall to replace the exhaust manifold. Apparently "the inner shells of the exhaust mainfold are made from a material which is insufficiently heat resistant". I though the manifolds are made from s/steel so isn't that heat resistant enough??

Has anyone else had a similar letter, or have any more info about the problem?

BTW, my bike is Dec 04, and the recall work takes about 3 hrs. FOC of course.

OK, mystery solved. The recall is for my car, not the GS. Somehow Vines and BMW have confused a 1200GS with a 530d... Thought it was odd that no one else received a recall letter for their GS.
