EXHAUST SIDE VARIO CASE NOT WORKING WHEN FULLY EXTENDED

Hi When the exhaust side vario case is in its extended position, the orange release lever does not work, the metal control rod inside the case is not long enough to enter the orange plastic release lever. The other side case works perfectly, any ideas ?.
