Exhaust touching

Question regarding a BOS system on my GS . The exhaust is touching the center stand when bike is on center stand or on side stand. I tried readjusting it by loosening all the nut&bolts and put a 3ml spacer where back silencer bolts on. I put a plastic spacer between exhaust and stand. When I tightened everything I removed spacer and there was a small gap. I was not happy with 3ml spacer and removed it. I retightened back silencer and now exhaust is touching center stand when up or down again. If I give exhaust a good push it does leave a little gap. There is no dent from exhaust touching and I have ridden bike a few times. All seem OK. Comberjohn from this site has kindly informed me that exhaust is from an earlier GS as mine is 2009. Center stand on earlier bikes were curved and later bikes straight bar across is what I found. Not sure it is a good idea to put pressure on exhaust by moving it a bit offline from the way it has always sat. Should I leave as is?

If it was only touching when the stands were down, and "touching" means not under any real pressure, then I wouldn't worry too much. I wouldn't be happy if it was touching with the stand up, and I wouldn't be happy stressing the exhaust pipework I would leave it be and adjust something else, like the stand. You need a lump hammer and or an angle grinder.

Sound.No pressure from exhaust touching center stand. Best leave well alone then.
