Wow, great thread. Nothing like a good bit of mutual slagging 
I test rode the Exp when it came out and thought it was a fine machine.
In 10 years on an 1150 I never ventured further than a gravel car park. I liked the GS because it was such a good road bike and I thought the Exp was also an excellent road bike. That engine is fantastic and off-road ability is not something I'd be considering. I'd guess that anyone swapping a GS for an Exp isn't likely to take it seriously off-road and anyone who would take it off-road probably wouldn't get rid of their GSs in the first place.
Each to their own, but carry on with the slagging as it is entertaining
