A mate is looking for a tank bag for his F650 Dakar. Apart from the touratech product, what options are there? And what do people recommend?

BMW one?

Main problem with the 650 is it's a plastic tank, so whatever he gets will have to be a "strap on" :P variety

Has he looked at the UK and US/Intl 650 sites?

I have a Baglux tank cover and bag fitted to the Duck.......definitely one of the best pieces of kit I've used. The bag is the Bagster "City Trail" ; it isn't huge, just big enough to carry plenty of essentials, like camera, waterproofs, wallet etc. I think this particular bag is now discontinued, but I would have thought they would still do a similar version. And of course once you have the cover then any Baglux bag will fit. The tank cover has also done a marvellous job of keeping my tank like new, and colour matched looks brill. :thumb2

I've got the BMW bag, I'm happy with it, the rain cover seems to work well and the map pocket is a decent size. Also, it is expandable.

The quality is good but it is a bit pricey and additional side pocket space is limited.

Got mine from Rainbow via T'internet.

BMW, TT and someone was selling a Famsa(? I think it was) bag the other day. Oh, I think there's a Wunderlich bag as well.

Correct, someone was selling a Famsa and I bought it but not been road tested as yet so cannot report back I'm afraid.
I was thinking about a Baglux but decided they would be a big nuisance every time I wanted to take the tank panels off although I'm a big fan of Baglux and have one fitted permanently to my Honda Hornet.
