F650gs any good?

I had a F650 for a year or so, nice bike, after than a F650GS also good and a bit more modern looking, smoother ride and easily handle motorway miles. I used mine to commute ~30 miles to/from work with no issues. Recently upgraded to 1200GS and thats the dogs bollocks. Get a tall screen and hand guards, makes all the difference.

Not a bad machine, almost on par with a good Honda Dominator.

wudnt touch a dommie again after a gs,far faster, more reliable and stronger,BUT,not as pretty

Hi all,

I'm new to this site and I am thinking of getting an F650GS but I have heard some stories about un reliability issues. Are these isolated incidents or are there some real unresolved problems with this model ?

Maybe the older carburettor model F650 is better.

What do the real owners think ?

Thanks for any advice.

They're great! Now check the for sale ad's to snag a bargain (I would openly advertise, but the gestapo will take me outside and shoot me)

This is the only BM I would have.
12k miles and all it's needed are.
New chain ,sprokets fine for another 12K
New head race bearings very common (I don't think they are greased from the factory)
1 new set of tyres at 12K service.
It's on its 3rd battery they seam to last about 2 years.
Average mpg has worked out at 68.
I just wish it had a bit more power.

any good

Hi there, Claire and I both have 650Gs,s. I also have an r1100gs and ak1200lt, but if I could only have one bike it would be the 650Gs every time. It is the best all round bike I have had in32 years of riding
Cheers Hovis:clap
