I know next to nothing about the smaller GS's, but I do know the F800GS is more powerful then the F650GS

What are the other differences between the F650GS and the F800GS ?

And why has the F650GS got '650' quoted in the model name, when the engine size is 800 ??

The 650 is just targeting a slightly different market, thus the 650 label. Engine isn't tuned the same at the "800" so less power, although many (Tim of this forum) has taking his all over the place and power was the least of his (few) problems.

800 has 21" front wheel, 650 is 19" (someone confirm?)
800 has spoked wheels, 650 doesn't
800 has upside down forks, 650 doesn't
650 has smaller screen, slightly different fairing material (800 has black, 650 has more paint at the front)

I think the 650 has a lower height too, not quite sure.

Must be other things too.

The 800 has twin disc brake up front,650 a single disc.
800 has a bigger radiator.
I think the 800 has a slightly different beak.

F800 tubed tyers = no option for tyre pressure "control" surely an exaggeration if ever there was one? How can a monitor control the pressures? JJH

cheers for the comments

looks like the 650 is more road biased, while the 800 is up for a bit more ruff stuff
