F650GS headlight conversion/ replacement

Results from a forum search on here and over on F650.co.uk indicates that the twin-spark bike's headlight unit provides a noteable lighting improvement over the one fitted to the single-spark bike.

Threads found point to the ChainGang thread regarding what needs doing to make the twin-spark headlight unit fit to a single-spark model. Trouble is, that it seems to be a dead link now, hence my post...

Has anyone done the conversion. If so:

- Is it headlamps off 04 / 05 bikes that are the ones to use, or is it units off later models than those?

- What needs modifying to get the twin-spark headlight fit a single-spark bike?

That's funny because I also thought the later reflectors were supposed to be much better, perhaps I read it in the same place.

In the end I put a HID unit into Ange's 650 which is a fiddle due to lack of space but a great improvement.

As far as I know there's no difference

I had a twin spark, the girlfriend had a single spark ... the headlights, and most other things, were identical

I fitted a Touratech twin headlight unit to mine though ...

Those headlights look really nice Micky, way too expensive from Touratech though!

They were expensive Jona ... but I got a good deal
