Hello all!!!

First off all I would like to apologize for my use of English since I am Greek !

So here is how it goes... I am an owner of a F650GS TWIN for less than a year with 8500 kilometers.

I normally fill the fuel tank with gas 95ron . The previous week I fill it with 100ron.

Since then suddenly when I have the clutch pushed with first gear in the city stopped or almost stopped the rpm from the normal which is 1150 fell suddenly to 500 and again to 1150 for 2 or three times. That happened at least 7or 8 times from which the 2 the engine stopped.

I thought that it was gas matter so I filled again with 95ron ( there were just 2-3 liters of 100ron ..

Unfortunately it happened again ... Any ideas what could it be???

Thank you in advance

Hi Charis welcome to the forum,I can only hazard a guess that it might be water in the fuel.Maybe someone else will chime in with a more solid solution.

Hi Charis,

Welcome to the forum.

I had a similar thing last year. I was out for ride on one of the hottest days of the year then got stuck in heavy traffic. The bike would then stall / cut out at low revs when pulling away. This as purely heat related - the following week we returned to the usual English weather and it was fine.

Do let us know what BMW say.

Good luck,

S

I am nopt sure if heat is the couse.... I live in north Greece (Creta. Ierapetra,) where we have really hot summer, spring and autum...

I hope that its not a big deal, tommorow I'll take it for a check, and I will let you know for sure!

I am just hopping that is a matter of bad quallity fuell...

I just contacted with BMW ... they are aknown of the issue... they said that is probbably some kind of garbage to the injection system... he will need 15min to fix it and few adjustments to make...
The appointment is on Friday.. i will let yopu know..
thanx for you help

Just on the off chance...have you checked the side stand switch? If the bike starts and runs ok in neutral, but the engine falters or stops when you drop it into first gear, it could be a loose or clogged side stand switch. The bike thinks the stand is down.

It happened to me five times yesterday..the bike suddenly splutters while riding and then the engine dies altogether. Squirting WD40 into the switch is a temporary fix and check the 8mm nut is tight behind the stand.

It can cut in and out when it first starts happening and then stop altogether. Its a quick job to fit a new switch (I will shortly be on to my fourth one!) and your warranty would cover it.

Or it could be your fuel....

Thanx for the help.... They the will probably check everything... The day after tomorrow I'll know for sure ...

well everything is fine now... since the bike does not have any gas filter probably there was some dirt which was the reason that the sensor which is responsable to keep the rpm stady wasnt working properly... now that is reprogramed is working perfect!!!
