Hi
Does anybody know what this latest recall is ?(the info is not on the VOSA site)
Thanks

Haven't seen any recent recalls from BMW - there was a service bulletin a couple of months back. BMW has released a new Service Bulletin in the US.

Bulletin Number: 00 020 06 (058)
Bulletin Date: September 2006
Applies to: Dual Spark Fuel Injected models (GS, Dakar and CS) - RON 91

The new program version is 200E. Previous versions we know about are 170 (the first known version) and 180 - which deals with cold starting problems and a few other things. Your dealer will need to download the new software version.

Version 200E apparently improves throttle response and (more?) cold starting problems. There is also a comment in there about installing a new decompression lever and spring.

This new program status 200E is available for the following motorcycle variants with BMS-CII:
• F 650 GS / F 650 GS Dakar US three-way cat RON91 (data release: D607)
• F 650 CS US three-way cat RON91 (data release: E607)
The remaining two models of model year 2007, the F 650 GS / F 650 GS Dakar, are already programmed from the factory with the program status 200E. Only after changing the BMS-CII control unit will programming be necessary on these particular motorcycles: choose "First-time programming".

Touratech recalled some of the folding brake pedals part number 300-0126. You'll have to contact them for more info on this. The recalled ones don't fit correctly.

finally got info on the recall. Its to change the starter relay apparently. In some cases while cranking the old relay might fuse to open and drain the battery or in some case set the bike alight.

have a look on http://www.f650.co.uk

Will be double checking with local dealer later.
