Hi all!

My babe, a titan blue F650GS was stolen from Goodge Street this evening. :(

Went outside about 5.30 for a cigarette, back in to my bending moment calculations, went out about 7.00 to leave the office… Where the FECK is my bike? :spitfire I just cannot believe it! I mean, the bike was parked on the motorcycle bay 2m away form my office’s door…. :nenau :nenau :nenau
Called BMW insurance to report it and then straight to the nearest Police station in Holborn. I was walking in New Oxford Street with my motorcycle pants and jacket, holding my helmet, but something was missing between my legs... At least I have the BMW comprehensive scheme, lets hope they will not play any trick on me…

If anyone sees a blue F650GS, reg W57 PPM, please let me know. By the way, underneath the saddle next to the tool’s pouch there is a St Christopher’s medallion (biker’s patron) gift from my mother, should you ever come across it…

I wonder...could this be a sign from god telling me to move to the next level… 1100 or 1150? :mmmm

Cheers

commiserations from a fellow victim...hopefully your insurance will cough in quick time...doubt you'll see the bike again seeing as it was nicked in central london - will probably be in bits by tomorrow and flogged for parts unfortunately... :(

I know it! I just cannot believe it…
Thanks anyway!

So how soon did you hear from BMW? Since it’s my first bike, thus my first bike stolen, don’t have much experience about what’s next… So, are they suppose to find me a replacement bike or give me the money to buy a new one?

Had my GS stolen from the very same area as well a couple of years ago. I know the feeling well of going home on train with all your kit on!

Prepare yourself for the fact that you won't get it back and prepare for an arguement with BMW Insurance to make sure you get what's due to you.

Good luck.

mine was recovered the same day, so i'm not sure how long it will take for your claim to be dealt with...I'm pretty sure they'll allow some time in case the bike is recovered...

You see, just another consequence of not being allowed to work in the smoking place. If your desk was outside you could have kept an eye on your bike, had a fag and worked all at the same time. :thumb

Bad luck, shite place London.

I am paranoid about leaving my bike anywhere in town if not chained to anything.

Thanks for your support! :thumb

I called the BMW insurance today and gave them the Crime Ref No. They will call on Monday to take me through the procedure. I understand that the chances of seeing my babe again are not great, so if any one of you is thinking of selling his bike let me know… R series welcome as well... ;)

Meanwhile I had to use the bus this morning, hadn’t done so since last June… I’m afraid that will be the case for the next weeks, depends how lucky I will be…

Cheers,
