Quick refresh, I had a battery / ignition failure problem that was diagnosed / guessed as an alternator failure, motoradd pamplona spain, nice guys, replaced the rectifier (removed not charged) but still only 12.3 volts at revs, so the guess is now the alto.
Well I managed to get home purely by disconnecting me headlight and refraining from lots of start stops, including petrol stations and thus providing enough juice to charge me battery.
Questions, can it be anything else, why would an alternator fail at 21k miles?
Can I get another model alto, better / cheaper?
And, if it is the alto is it an easy job? no specialist tools? and if it is a right pig can anyone recommend someone Portsmouth Southampton area?
