Ive just had a new sprocket and chain (recall) and since then the bikes rear suspension doesnt feel right. Basically when I sit on it the bike sags down a normal amount but it feels like there is a dead spot before it rebounds very slowly. I dont have any technical knowledge about the suspension other than I know I can tighten it and loosen it which I have done with not much difference. Ive also adjusted the damping and I cant actually feel any difference! So before I bring it back to the garage and ask them if they adjusted it while fitting a new chain and sprockets has anyone else had an issue like this? Ive tried setting both settings back to their 'mid' position and it still doesnt feel the same as it did before. Riding 2-up also feels wrong. Anyone got any ideas?!

Cheers

Yeah, if it's under warranty, then take it back and ask them to help set it up. That way, if it's not working properly they'll replace it.

I had mine done and I noticed the chain was set bar tight by bmw. Check you have 35+mm of play. If the chain is tight the swing arm will bind up and not be free. I just check the chain will just touch the plastic runner under the swinging arm. This is about 35 mm play ...at the tightest spot.

Also check they havent wound up the rebound damping. I have mine set to the standard turns ou plus an additional quarter turn out to make it a little les damped on the rebound.

Rear shock

Also check your rear shock for oil residue. I had mine replaced on warranty because of an oil leak. Made the bike pretty saggy.
