F800GS KEEPS STALLING

My trusty steed has developed a problem recently! it will stall immediately whenever i select first or second gear, well any gear, this is without releasing the clutch.
side stand up of course, i cannot see anything untoward relating to the clutch or gearbox! would i be right in thinking there is a sensor within the gearbox that is not working and keeps cutting the engine, never had this problem before and does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be..

I'm not sure but is there a throttle resets these?

could be a faulty side stand switch which is not registering that the side stand is up?

I have been reliably informed that it's most likely to be a faulty side stand switch!

I think there was a recall on this. I know my 800gsa was done under recall. Jjh

Had an issue with side stand switch lucky just wriggled the wires leading to it and that did the trick

Nugget, did you exorcise the stalling demon as yet?

Just solved a problem like this with my brothers 950 Adventure, the battery terminal wiring had snapped and would jolt off when kicked into gear. Cheap fix and easy to check... Have a look

Good diagnostic fault-finding. Check the simple stuff first.

Hi Nick the side stand was faulty so I bypassed the switch by joining the White and red and floating the brown works a treat! BMW wanted £93 for switch and cablehmm really not paying that.
