Apart from the rear hub, are there any other issues to worry about?

The 'sticky' above, which leads you into the quick links area, covers all issues known to man with the 800 twins, so just have a look around on there. It even covers the thoughts from others considering the same change as your goodself.
Just a few words of caution, from a personal perspective. I have seen several buddies suffer significant financial loss by going down the Cat D route. Admittedly, had they instructed a full engineers report, they would have looked elsewhere in the first place, but a cheap deal on ebay lured them in. The bikes .... well they had been repaired poorly & issues started coming to light pretty soon that impacted on reliability & they all ended up spending as much, probably more, than they would on a good quality unmolested 2nd hand machine from a dealer. And .......... they had to endure all the hassle of fixing problems, time off the road, grief from their spouses & the thought that they couldn't bail out easily without taking a significant drop in value as many dealers won't even quote for a CatD trade-in.
So, IMHO, don't do it. I know full well that some will say, if it's cheap enough & feels right, then go with it, but personally, I don't need grief that badly. I enjoy riding, don't mind fixing a few odd things.... sometimes, but have no wish to spend time & money sorting out other peoples bodge ups.
There is a pretty decent array of 800 twins for sale at present - when I was searching, I soon discovered that most high mileage bikes had been used as all-weather comuters, so were ravaged by salt damage sadly, so a good clean one with a warranty seems the best way to go IMHO. I ended up with a 2012 650GS SE, top box/Nav/tall screen. It handles sweetly, feels really light & nimble, brilliant in traffic; the engine pulls well, fuelling is spot on, but it's power delivery is maybe a bit characterless.
Take care ........................
