F850GS header pipes

Dear All:
1. Can someone confirm if the (gold) headers on the 850 are stainless steel or chrome?
2. Mine have discoloured already with less than 1k miles on the clock. Is this normal?
3. What’s the best way to clean them? Can they be restored?

Any advice would be gratefully received. All the best.

If they’ve gone gold, they’re more than likely stainless.
This is normal.
Yes, you can polish them back to a chrome like finish.
I do this every couple of years.

Cheers Demongroover but they have not gone gold. They started off as gold, now they are bare metal coloured, brown, blue, green and black along varying parts of pipes...???
