Yes, it's an excellent piece of kit.

The base fits nice and securely and doesn't mark the tank. There is a knack to zipping the bag to the base but this becomes easy with practice. Some people complain the map pocket is too small and won't take an A4 sheet but this doesn't present a problem to me as I use a GPS.

I've used mine on three long European trips with no problems and it still looks as good as new.

If you're ever in the Taunton area you are welcome to have a look.

As above good bit of kit, i will be catching the santanda ferry tomorrow
Sunday, be in the port about 2-ish if yer want to take a look. OH! but i will not have the tank side bags on this trip. :thumb2 Blue 1200..with a guy with a blue qizuki V-strom thou.
Lyn.
PS: old fart also....

I've sold the touratech tank bag and bought two Famsa. One is the 244 we are talkin about, the other is a smoller one, just for your map and few things. Bought directly from the producer, close to Milan, kind people, and bikers!
I do prefer Famsa.

Any code numbers for the smoller :D one, so I can have a look at it :thumb2

Ok got it. It's THIS one, but I just bought half bag, the smaller part. You can buy the whole bag and simply use one part or both parts. If I need more space I now can use the 244, which is, in my opinion, also very nice.

Also, I have a pic of last summer, the blue gs has the same I have now bought. When I took that pic I had the touratech bag, sold few months ago (I didnt like it and, repainted the tank, I didn't want to attach again the velcro...).The red gs is mine (now even the color is different, not just the tank bag ;) ...)

Last few infos about Famsa.
They also produce bags for ktm.
If you have particular needs (colors or shapes) they build whatever you need. Imagine a very small company where young and kind people work.
Another reason for buying Famsa is that when you change bike, u keep the bag, you just have to buy the softfix for the new model.
Last thing, remember that if you are going to Italy, where famsa is very popular, a 244 complete for gs1200 in every shop is sold for 100 euros (about 70 pounds), also seen sold for less...
Tomorrow, one day trip for me, so I'll take the small one ;)

p.s. obviously I'm just a customer!
