Fancy a bit of rough camping?

A few of us up at Tan Hill Sunday night, pitch your tent round the back. Arrive during the afternoon, a few biers and evening meal. Breakfast there in the morning if you want, or on the road, home sometime Monday :thumb

Well you don't know what you missed ;)

A great ride up from South Yorkshire, the weather pleasant enough until we got to Kettlewell and up over the tops from Upper Wharfedale and in to Wensleydale, from then on it was a pea souper all the way to Tan Hill.

Sarah (Rainbow) getting her G650XCountry sideways over a cattle grid climbing out of Wharfedale .... :blast

A great night, excellent food and bier ... the Theaksons being on particularly fine form

Neil23 on here turned up and felt immediately at home in the surrounding :thumb

A beautiful morning, the sun shining, for a great ride back over the tops, down in to Kettlewell and the ubiquitous Wensleydale Cheese Factory mmmmm :thumb

Thanks to Neil and the Rainbow contingent for the great craic and riding, and my two sons (1150GS-A's) .... looks like we have a yearly event on the calendar :thumb

1) Neil managed to get the bulls nose ring on to the hook twice with his unorthodox style, which we said would never work :blast

2) Rainbow crowd .... Rob, Sarah and Dave

3) Beautiful morning ... Neil ready for off

Sounds like a good weekend. I used to do similar but now find I have consumed 4 pints by eight, then get the taste for a real session and end up wobbling about by 11.00 and dead to the world in the morning. I find it hard to pace myself when its dark and cold.
Not a problem when Its lighter and warmer so I can read or go for a walk before pub time, do you camp a bit later in the year?

Usually busy through the sunshine months on foreign jaunts... some organised and some at short notice. Two weeks time on the ferry for three days round the Somme battlefields and then down to the Schwarzwald for a couple of days, or maybe the Eifel's, depends where the sun is shining :)
