Hi Mate,

Went down to the BMW shop to confirm the price and its $26k on road. The extra $400 was for the fitting of road tyres that dont come as standard.

So thats a few thousand less than I was expecting. He also said it should be here before Christmas although I'm going to the UK in Dec for a few weeks so probably no good.

Anyway will have to catch up for a Pie in the Sky when you get your bike.

Regards

$26K at Procycles??? I ordered mine in late May was told $30k on road (with panniers and ABS) and was just down there today to check status: Bike being built at factory in August and delivery in Early october. Did I get screwed on the price (and delivery???) for ordering too early?

Hi Mate,

The delivery date sounds pretty good really. Mine is due late Dec early Jan but partly through choice.

Regarding the price I guess all you can do is go and ask them to reconcile how they got the figure of $30. The price ticket on the bike states $24k. On road costs are detailed in Bonox post above. I think ABS costs $1,800 and Pannier Rails are about $600, That takes it up to $26.4k. $400 for road tyres takes it to $26.8. Plus on road costs (about $2kish) Is $28.8. The only thing I haven't included above is the cost of the panniers. I was told Heated Grips were standard on Aussie bikes.

Assuming panniers are about $300 each (ive got no idea on the real price) that would make $29.7 so not too far off the $30k quoted.

As a saleman in the shop mentioned "Ive got the Poverty Pack!" which I thought was a bit slack.. :nenau . I thought I was doing alright spending $26k on a new BMW but obviously still have a way to go to make it out of poverty....

price can depend on how much the dealer is willing to play with the figures for you, as well as what kind of deal you can spring. eg don't pay stamp duty on anything that can be regarded as an accessory - panniers for example.

The full pannier kit btw is rrp of $3500, which may account for much of the high price some of you are paying. Heated grips are standard. I'd be surprised if you could get a better base price (supply being so short), but you should be able to get trade prices or better on luggage and tyres if you haggle a little.

no - see history of these posts. Gazzr didn't order ABS or panniers (about $5000 according to bmw stock lists).

Well done on getting the bike Sketty,

Although I dont actually have a GSA yet I have pretty much planned every weekends riding for the next year for when I do pick it up. Lots of time spent looking at maps etc.

Enjoy!
