The Mrs has been complaining about her knees aching on long rides. I think the solution lies in lowering the pillion footpegs. Ive an 1150 gs adventure and have noticed that fastway pillion pegs specifically say "not for adventure" .

Why is this?

Also any alternative solutions for dropping the pillion pegs on my bike?

(i understand the obvious- dont take her!)

I'm not 100% sure - but I think they don't fit if you have the BMW Adventure Ali luggage fitted - as you have different rear pegs - if you don't then the rear pegs are the same as the standard GS so should fit :thumb2

cheaper alternative are the migsel pegs. thats assuming they're suitable for the pillion. £67 including post.

other way to go is.. instead of lowering the pegs. raise the pillion area. adding a putnams (or even putnams PLUS sheepskin) that would be my first option... cheap enough if it doesn't work. no loss. and plenty on here who would buy it off you.

or have the seat remade and recovered.. raised to suit.
