Yes I bought from them and yes to vat and duty. No vat on helmets though as I understand the rules.

Yes I have bought from them but not since brexit. I’m currently looking at replacing my jacket and trousers but very few places have anything to try on. We’re going to Germany on the bikes in 2026 and I’m going to France and Italy in May so might just buy new gear over there on one of these trips.

Thank you for replying.
Will stick with XLMoto then as no VAT or Duty is payable on delivery.

I now use Sportsbike Shop. It's an hour away but you simply cannot beat their customer service. Just check they've got it in stock. If they haven't, order it to be delivered to the store you want to try it on at. Earlier this year, I bought three pairs of textile trousers because I just couldn't work out which were the right size. They were delivered and I returned two pairs a couple of days later, which they paid for.

Yeah I’ve used SPORTSBIKESHOP. Last week in fact. We went to the Leeds shop as it advertised they sell HELD gear, they don’t!! I ordered some RIKKA trousers and jacket but neither fitted me so re packaged up and returned. I would just like to walk into a shop, try on various makes of clothing and buy whichever ones I want. That seems to be becoming less of an option here. SPORTSBIKESHOP were very good with delivery and returns though.

It seems normal now that companies hold very little stock. Found the same here in France.
As a side note, just had an rpha12 carbon, delivered for €472 (that is Euros..so very good price) 25% off with free delivery from RAD in the Netherlands.
IF you know your size and IF helmets are exempt, may be worth a look for anyone looking for a new lid, another IF they they deliver to UK!

If i cant buy it local i use SBS, Moto-Central and now XLMoto.
Moto-Central can beat SBS on price on most items if you used the forum discount code.
Returns are also free at Moto-Central as i found out when i orderd the Keis Jacket that was to big.

Or use the Moto Central discount code and then Motolegends will knock another 10% off. So always possible to get 20% off anything (that must be available to order ).

Online shopping is the work of the devil.
One day you’ll all be complaining that there are no shops left because you buy it all online.
Personally, I try and give my business to my local dealers, I can go in and try stuff on then I know I’ve got the right fit.
I have a mate who runs intogear in Hull, often people come in, try stuff on then go away and buy online. I wonder how long these small independents can survive.
They can’t be beaten for service, but the online shops beat them on price. Myself, I don’t mind paying a bit more for service.

What a load of crap. When i was after my Daytona boots, i sent Motolegends a screen shot of the price SBS were selling them for. I waited for a reply that did not come. So much for there price beat guarantee.
I ended up buying them from Moto-Central for a great price about a month later.

There are only 2 shops now near me, CMC Newport and Fowlers Bristol. And i buy from both.
Lost track of how many bikes we have bought new and used from CMC/SuperBikes Newport and CMC Cannock. And sadly Thunder Road which was just around the corner are no longer there.

I bought a K&N Air Filter off them for my Harley and the price advertised was the price I paid

IIRC they even stated that any applicable VAT or Duty would be covered at their end

Saved me around £45 over the cheapest price I could find in the UK :thumb2
