Feeling blue with the BLUE...

Well......

It's bloody difficult. Normally, I would think "I want to spray the bike in ***** colour" and that would be that.

Now I'm thinking "I want to spray the bike a different colour to standard, but don't know what".

I'm looking at EVERYTHING to see if there's a colour I like. The GS reminds me of a Land Rover (it does everything I want, on and off road), and I like Epsom Green.

But tomorrow I may change my mind again. :augie :augie :augie

I see loads of colours I like, but don't think they'll fit the Biplane.....

Hang on. BIPLANE.... HHhmmmm. RAF circles. Camo. HHhmmm

Camo?? Sounds a bit like CAMEL. Camel Trophy Sand Glow rep.... Now THERE'S a thought.....

My mind works in funny ways.
And I've not even been on the hooch yet.....

memories

A long time ago I was in the Army and had quite a lot of (awful) motorbikes under my control; No problem with colour - they were khaki ALL OVER. However they did try a little not to get too much on the tyres and handlebar grips; Nevertheless the riders used to 'bull them up' with the polish issued for cleaning the barrack room floors; So much for camouflage!

If you're looking for green, here's one I found using Google images (there's a hint in there :augie) :

Wat can I say ? :likeit

Mate of mine had a T Triple in Lamborgini orange and electric blue powder coat wheels

looked brill...

I know of a nice 800GS in a white pearl ... looks really tasteful ...

Just been reading this thread and a few other about repainting/spraying panels etc and im feeling abit confuzled

i want to change the colour of my 12, its in boring silver/grey with black tank panel but want it to be matt or satin black to match the side panels,

is it literally a case of sanding down the existing panels and priming them and then spraying them myself?

or how much would it cost to by a new set of panels etc from BuMW?

or is there someone on this site prepared to show me how to do it for a small fee, or supplyed with tea and cake for the duration of the lesson?

can stretch to about £200 for a respray, but dont much fancy doing it myself!

any help much appreciated chaps

:beerjug:

See if you can get 2 panels from a breakers, they don`t even have to be the same colour, and get them sprayed up. Keep your original ones for when you sell the bike as I imagine buying a new set will be VERY expensive :(

All black

Have yiou considere a black tank cover from Bagster? I have one and it fits beautifully. Also the tank bag clips on and off very easily.

No need to sand panels, just rub all over with SCOTCHBRIGHT GREY pad rather like a brillo pad if paint is sound.

ill try and seek a spare set of panels from somewhere, unless a fellow tosser has a set they would like to swap..... :augie
