Folks, I've been going round in circles trying to book a ferry.
Question to you all, is....... do any ferries sail from Ireland to France in January? If so, which and where from?

Irish Ferries show one sailing from Roslare on 1/1/10 ok but you have to return on the 2nd:eek:

Had'nt realised this was the case

cork roscoff with brittany doesnt start till march

the rosslare one you might have to wait till dec possibly bit odd that they go only to jan 1 when french stuff can be booked give em a ring

failing that youll need to come here and go from portsmouth :blast

Nope.... not working!

Folks, unless I am missing something, it appears that none of the options listed are sailing in January.
Plan is to get a single for me and the moto.... leaving around 16th January.

I entered January dates & LD lines shows sailings either side of your date.
Suggest you look again.

You might want to call LD Lines to confirm.
I was booked on the return ferry on 5th october and got an email the week before saying it was cancelled.
Looked further into it and it seems they had leased the boat to http://www.celticlinkferries.com/

I rebooked onto Celtic Link and jaysus was it an experience.
I think the boat may have been used in the Evacuation of Dunkerque and the entertainment was watching drunk truckers punching the head off each other:eek:

I'd guess they run all year round if you're brave/deperate enough.

Did the same with Celtic link about two years ago, the only thing was it was cheap cheap cheap at the time half the price of Irish ferries all your food was included and was quite good I also changed my return date twice with no problem and no extra cost and the staff were very helpful.
Now the bad bit bring your own sleeping bag on board cabins are not that clean, sea legs might not be a bad idea as if the weather is bad its going to get rocky, as for the truckers keep an eye out for the middle aged ones the tend to get knocked out quicker so you can have an early night.
I would still use them as I said they get you there and cheap cheap and all your going to do is sleep any way. :D

I would use them if it was the only option but they were the dearesst of all the ferries I booked (30% more than that nice Irish Ferries boat)
