Can anyone give me advice on getting the best route/deals on ferries to spain,?? as I would like to get to the south on a tight budget in early may?. Thanks in advance.. Geoff..

As my mate lives near Portsmouth we go Pompey -> Bilbao, but I wouldn't say it was cheap. This year it cost us £290 for two bikes & riders, with a 4 berth Premier (whatever that means) outside cabin. I reckon you could knock £30 for a cheaper cabin.

Got ours through www.motorsport-travel.com/

If you want to do it cheap do a ferry to northern France and hoon it down the roads.

cheers

Mark

I'm doing it on May 8th and Plymouth to Santander seems the best route as the crossing is quicker than Bilbao.

Opt for a recliner and that will save you money. We've gone for cabins and will share the costs.

Our return is from Bolougne via Speed Ferries. £ 19 single each, it was £ 62 single each on EuroTunnel!

Mark, is that price one way or return?

Cheers, Martin

Don't go on that bloody awful P&O boat from Porstmouth its shite, go from Plymouth with Brittany ferries, 18 hours, we paid £212 each way for three men three bikes and a four man cabin.

One way. We got some VERY cheap euro tunnel tickets to come back (friend of a friend, of a....... had a bit of a run in with them and refused to use them again, hence we got his "compensation vouchers" for want of a better term)

Cheers
