Same happened with the R1200C but in 1998
Dealers couldn’t give them away
Now they have a cachet and sell for £5-7k
Dunno why though ???

I couldn't find the rear brake! Felt cramped and too low as well. And I am a short arse. Longer roads and less traffic would be a different ball game but in the UK...pah

This, I was told by a BMW Aftersales bod that the 1200C was built to take on Harley in the USA, just shows how arrogant they are as a manufacturer.

I’m one of them! Bought a R18 FE Classic last October. I just loved the look of them from when I saw one at Cotswold BMW in 2020.
Beauty is in the eye etc. It’s a garage queen but I take it out on dry days including my 70 mile commute into London. Easy to ride & I find it comfortable. Beautifully built & finished. About my only gripe is no petrol gauge. Low warning at about 50 miles left though. Economical too. On my mainly motorway commute I get 50+ mpg.

6’ with proportionate (I hope) arms. I’ve never had a cruiser style bike in my 40 odd years of riding & I find it comfortable. I did test ride a Harley XR1200 (I think) once & that was horrid. I was glad to give it back with all my teeth still in place.
I guess the R18 has been a fail for BMW-or at least in the UK-but I think it’s a beautifully engineered & built bike & I’m glad I bought mine. The Classic I have isn’t an everyday rider but I’ll have fun on it when the better weather comes along.

I like the look of the Classic but the cylinders are so bloody big that there’s nowhere to put your feet !
