Fife Polis are under the spotlight on BBC tonight at 22.40. The programme makers track down former Detective Superintendent Richard Munro, who is the subject of a massive enquiry centered around 2 guys from Dunfermline who were allegedly "fitted up" for a murder in the 90's. They've since been released and the Crown have accepted that there was a miscarriage of justice (which isn't the same as "they didn't do it" :augie).

I worked with Dick Munro for a few years when he was a Detective Constable and then as a Detective Sergeant. He was a highly intelligent and highly motivated guy. He left the police under a cloud when a Prostitute in Aberdeen stole his wallet :D He got a handsome pension as a Superintendent mind you.

He recently owned the Glen Isla Hotel which a few Tossers have called in at for a coffee but he sold it a couple of years ago after another press bashing and fecked off to Romania (where I believe there is no extradition agreement with the UK). It seems that Dick Munro has now relocated to Devon :nenau

Should be interesting viewing...

Aye we called in for coffee, signed the bill only to find I'd confessed to being Bible John:D

I'm not entirely convinced that that was Dick Munro in the shots at the end. How convenient that you never once saw a full or side face shot...

Probably so he didnt get lynched by the DCYT, Devon Custard Young Team, before the Criminal Justice system gets the chance to fcuk him up, good and proper. At the moment he is of course..........innocent until proven, and, if he is eventually prosecuted, his defence would say that he could not get a fair trial after his pics have been on TV.

Theres enough of this "pernicious evil" in Strathclyde, to make a rather large and long running series.

:stupid

Watched the 2nd and 3rd part of the programme and a comment that rang a bell with me was

"What he wrote bore no connection with the truth" Wonder how many times something similar has been said. Main problem is that often people have no idea what is recorded by Police Officers. !995 must have been a good year for fairy tales from my experience. I do appreciate that being a Police Officer must be a very exasperating and frustrating job at times, however lying or falsifying evidence makes you just as bad as the real criminals. Innocent people and their families do suffer. I know a few Police officers who have been asked to backup their colleagues lies to get convictions which they themselves were unsure of, and ended up packing the job in. The superiors turned a blind eye/ear. That was back in the nineties though so can't comment on modern day issues.

Wouldn't it be great if somebody could invent a foolproof lie detector machine. Would certainly make the Police,s job far easier and more rewarding. :thumb2

FFS  thats a brilliant idea. :thumb

Police Officers being subjected to Polygraph Testing. That'll fack em. :augie Cant see too many being happy about it though.

Then all we need to do is rid the judicial system of any "others" who think Police Officers should not be convicted in their Courts of "Perverting The Course Of Justice, Falsifying Evidence and Perjury", amongst other things. :rob

This really is a cancer that has existed for far too long. Police Officers should not be allowed to get away with murder! Literally.

Haven't you heard? Barlinnie is full of innocent people. All of them fitted up by the Strathclyde Polis
