I have created you a fresh thread.

…..I'm slightly confused about files/route management.

In Basecamp for each trip I would create a folder. In each folder two files. First file for planning, second file for "cleaned" up tracks & routes to export to device.

Within the first file I could have several routes and tracks and a collection of waypoints.

In the planning I am doing at the moment I made a folder. I imported some pre-existing tracks from friends (.gpx files) I created one file, imported those tracks and then created an initial, long, route - the one mentioned in the post above.

I now want to create other smaller routes besides this one.
Is it possible within the same file? I don't understand how. If I add another waypoint, it gets appended to the end of the long route I already made. And being that already 200WP, I get an error.

Is it just one route per file?

Do I have to create another, empty, file, reference this existing route and trace smaller sections in the other file?

Hope the question makes sense.

I have also created a fresh post / thread for the separate question of using an off road track as a route.
