Just retuned from an 1100 mile trip and notices on the bottom of the rear final drive boot a drip of fluid. R1150 gs 23k miles
Last year I noticed a misting so cleaned the final drive breather.
Now it's more like seep/drip.
I've removed the cable ties and and there are traces of fluid inside the swing arm. Not sure if its coming from the final drive or not.
Can someone please tell me where to start looking. By the way the rear wheel has no noticeable fluid having leaked on it on it that I can see.

Thanks a lot stuart:(

If there's oil coming down the swing arm it's from the gearbox output shaft seal (or I suppose has splashed up from what's sitting in the boot).

If it's just teaspoon's full there's no need to panic - the FD can pass a little oil especially in hot weather. Check the FD and gearbox oil levels and monitor them for a while.

When my gearbox output shaft seal failed, a good cupful poured out of the boot when I peeled it back ;)

If it is the gearbox shaft seal, it's not the end of the world. Doable as a DIY - just requires a fair bit of dismantling to get to it.
