What is BMW at,hiding the type and amount of oil for the rear drive on the GSA 1200 LC 2014, not found in Bike manual. Is it like the old RT RD, fill until side threads are reached, or less . Can anyone shed light on this please.

Here you go... i used this to do mine. :beerjug: Just make sure you get a small tube to get the oil into the final drive otherwise it goes everywhere... i speak from experience :blast

Thanks for quick response, guess i better drain some out then as i filled to thread level which was around 240 cc ,bike not moved from garage. Helpful guys as usual.

In the Haynes Manual it says : Final Drive Capacity = 180cc (180ml)

Use a Large Syringe and make sure you don't use anything else that's been contaminated with other oil (like any old funnel laying around).

Bordering on paranoia....

A few drops of 10w40, 2 stroke or spry crisp & dry won't make any difference.
Its just a bevel gear, and its just gear oil you're putting in. No biggie.
