Final drive oil

Hi folks had a gander @ the final drive oil in my R1100GS an it looks a bit yukky .. think its been in for about 6000 miles should it change colour ?

I think it's metallic particles that would be more concerning, but Mikeyboy might call in soon with words of wisdom.

yeah it is a bit silvery.. havent drained it yet ..just stuck a syringe in an sucked up some ..will change it ..

Drain it and check it!

Silver usually means the chrome is coming off somewhere!

Change it otherwise your consciousness will prevail over what may occur. It is only a cup full anyway.
Use a magnet to see whether steel or aluminium. And that hypoid oil always stinks.
