Firefox hack to enlarge forum posting box width

Years ago, Tuned In and I came up with a bunch of firefox hacks to make the box that you type in a reply on this (and other) forums appear a lot wider.....it was something to do with editing the config file to the width that you required and made life a bit easier.

I've tried to find it, and have looked through several pages of hacks and tweaks, and have been unable to sort it out again......and with big screens become normal now, it would be damn useful to do again.

Anyone got any ideas?
