First proper trip of 2013 booked

Oh how I wish to be as good as you. You are so brave to accomplish that. Wow, what must it be like to live for just 1 day in your shoes. Oh, please can I be more like you...YAWN

Would you like a signed poster? :D

Maybe you like to come to one of my Adventure Biker workshops? :augie

Book a room at the back overlooking the courtyard though

Seconded Johnny - heavies pounding the main road throughout the night if memory serves me correctly!

Alright Nutty GSer? Any updates on the route yet?

Myself & a mate are heading a similar route 3 days after you on our way to Mugello, though we've already got hotels booked.

Be good to have a beer & see how you're getting on, if our paths cross at any point.

Day one, we're riding from Surrey to Dole, France mainly on motorways just to get the miles done.:blast

Then on the Friday, if some of the passes are open, we will head up into the Alps. We've not booked anywhere to stay Friday night, so will just wing it.

Saturday and Sunday night we will be in Varese, so depending on what's open Saturday, we will do as much as we can, ideally Stelvio. On Sunday there is a memorial service at the MV Agusta factory, which will involve a 45km ride out, and they are expecting a few thousand bikes, so that could be fun!:D Mental note to leave my credit card in the hotel that day.:D

Then we're riding back over the Alps on Monday, and some of the other parks and decent roads. The plan is to do as few motorways as possible coming home, but it all depends on time, weather etc. We have a B&B booked somewhere in France on the Monday night, before riding back home Tuesday.:beerjug:

Shame, looks like our paths are unlikely to cross.

Have a great trip & be safe.

We checked last night, and the Bernadino and Oberalp passes are now open, but there are rumours of another dumping of snow on Thursday.:blast We're planning on staying in Andermatt on Friday night.:thumb:beerjug:
