I thought it was time to take my bumblebee abroad.
Only a small trip is planned, including a couple of visits to some WW2 site in Northern France, but I don't want to stray to far with this old bike.
I have 180km track on my gps of gravel roads in the Pas De Calais region, so it should be a decent weekend with a few beers thrown in. The bike has worn TKC80 tyres fitted, and drips oil from the rear gater on the paralever, but wtf, I'm going and will love every minute of it.:D

The only thing I need to address asap is the balance pipe on the exhaust headers, as the welds are corroded now. I think I'lll just weld a plate over the places where the balance pipe joined each header and do away with the balance pipe all together..... any pros and cons in doing this?:nenau

Consider staying the weekend in Ypres, only an hour from Calais, with the sombre Flanders Fields Museum, the Tyne Cot Cemetery (the largest commonwealth war grave cemetery) five miles away and the unmissable 8pm ceremony at the Menin Gate each evening. I stayed there for a couple of nights B&B three weeks ago, the landlord was from Norfolk, and within walking distance of the town centre. Other suggestions on TripAdvisor.

Consider getting good roadside recovery in Europe as well. If your gearbox seal is leaking it will work it's way into the bevel drive and then blow from the breather all over your rear tyre after a while. Been there nearly killed myself :D
