fishing ports

Hi

I am off to Wales, Dolgellau soon with the family, could someone point me in the right direction to working fishing ports, dont mind a little drive. Like buying fresh fish and shellfish at the port. Small scale ports are preferable

Not many commercial fishing ports around now. Barmouth and Aberdovey are within 30 mins drive and very nice small harbours, which have a small fishing fleet working from them. A little further afield would be Aberystwyth or Amlwych.

Sorry, I've only just seen this thread, but if it isn't already too late...

Further afield from the ones already mentioned, you might consider Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Aberdaron- actually, the boats go out from Porth Meudwy, a mile or so along the coast towards Ynys Enlli (Bardsey), Porth Colmon, Porthdinllaen, Nefyn, Trefor, Caernarfon, Caergybi (Holyhead), Amlwch, Bangor, Conwy.

On the other hand, if you've already been, how did you get on?
