Anyone try these?

i used be big into gym etc when in college and school but with shift pattern and my pure lazyness i have lost my fitness and somehow found extra 4 inch of waist.

with work shift pattern i am not abe get time go gym as all to far away from me,

so looking do bit home trainign again, started running again but due old rugby injury my right knee it swells up when run so i am back to light running at most and biking.

so heard lot people talk about kettlebells so curious seee if anone used them or found them good?

might get a new eights bench and try start working out just have build shed for it

Have you tried skipping, easy to do ,less aggravating than running.
As you probably know doing weights is not the best way to shift weight. So possibly better to get the heart pumping more.

essentially weight doesnt bother me its more strenght and fitness i looking get back

Shifting body weight comes with increased fitness:D

I find that doing any form of excercise is more benificial the older i get.[And i have an active physical job ).
It definately helps from getting injuries.

A lot of the exercises used with kettle bells are more aerobic than the usual free weight exercises which is one of the reasons they are quite popular.

Also, as with any weights, low weight and high reps such as GVT (German Volume Training) where you'd do 10 sets of 10 reps of every exercise are very effective at burning calories. Don't forget, also, that the more muscle you have the more calories you are burning even at rest :thumb2

Back to the original question, no I don't use them but friends do and really rate them. They do need to be used properly though, it's easy to get some of the exercises wrong and as there is a lot of swinging and core movement involved injuries are possible so I reckon there would be no harm in a few sessions with somebody who knows what they are talking about to show you how to get the best out of them.

"Ive been doing kettlebell workouts for 4 months now, 3-4 times a week. Ive noticed my fat disappearing and the sides of my abdomen especially seem to be a lot firmer. My arms grew slightly larger in the first month but havent really changed since. Im not getting physically larger, just leaner and a lot stronger . I think many kettlebell users experience the same so give them a go :) "

Not me, just a comment underneath the video, might try it myself :thumb

well weights i know inside out so i might set myself up with them again for home use.

just wanted something to add to them

so think be weights one day, skipping/ or running one day

then try out kettlebell, might even try out thoes kettleworx dvd set see what like

Used them for a short stint a couple of years ago. You can get a good workout from them.

If I were setting myself up with a small home gym, they would be first on the list, and wouldn't bother with other weights.

What about a bicycle? Great way to exercise, and you could take it down the tracks if you got a mountain bike... been going along the Kerry Way on mine (unfortunately not enough though) and really it's enjoyable :thumb2
