I have a R1300GSA with 'Adaptive Vehicle Height Control'.
When I bought the bike towards the end of March I also ordered a MM Mudsling, these were out of stock at the time and I have only recently received it.
I tried fitting it this weekend and there is no way I can get it to fit over the 'Centre Cover' as it's referred to in the instructions.

Has anyone else had any issues fitting one, or, if you have successfully fitted one to the same bike, with height control, how did you do it?

Cheers

Bob

Just ordered a Mudsling for my GS from the Adventure Bike Shop. Carl made double sure I was getting one for a standard GS as he states that the GSA is different. I was confused as NN are selling them as fits both. His reply was that they've just been informed about this and that NN are getting a lot of returns.

If the above is corect and you've bought from NN, then you might have the wrong one

Mike

Thanks Mike, that makes sense. I did buy from NN. Mind you, the instruction leaflet does say it's for the GS/A and NN's site says all suspension variants.
The Mudsling is very well made and it will give more protection than the rubber flap currently fitted.

My MudSling arrived on Saturday for my R1300 GS Adventure. Hearing about the fitting issues, I emailed NN. Here’s the reply:

“No it does not fit.

Our apologies – we were only informed of this issue after we had sent out the stock. Apparently the Adventure was changed very early in the production run and this was not noticed by MachineArt. The same area on the Adventure is quite different to the GS. A new MudSling for the Adventure will be developed but this is months away.

Again our apologies – we are as disappointed as you are.

We will send free return paperwork.

We can exchange for this item which will fit or make a refund:

Thanks both.

I emailed NN last night so I'll wait to hear from them.

I've just looked at the Wunderlich version, it doesn't look like it will offer any more protection than the existing rubber flap. So I think I'll see what the wait time is for a MM version (or see what the Chinese sites offer).

I find a rear hugger 'contains' the spray and muck better than a mudsling.

Just fitted my mudsling onto my r1300gs…. (Adaptive suspension) No test ride yet as just back from a week away
Mudsling arrived on the day I was leaving…….typical. So didn’t get fitted as I had no time, and didn’t want to rush things.

Fitting was easy …hope it’s worth the wait to get it.

Had mudslings on all my bmw bikes, bought the one from NN for my 1300GSA, took 3 months to arrive with zero communication replies from NN. I then found it only fits the GS and not my 13GSA, despite being advertised by them as for both models. Sent it back using their returns service, but have had no further communication from them as to what is happening next. No phone no to make enquiries and my emails are never replied to when seeking product updates. I read with interest one of the comments here that NN suggest the Wunderlich product in lieu of the MA one. Ive had no such communication from them as i type. NN - quick to take your money- slow (non existent) comms to respond to queries and concerns or give updates of product releases allowing us the customer to make informed choices. Not a happy chappie at this time !!!!! ********* ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED BAD COMMUNICATION WITH NN **********

They didn't respond to my first email. so I sent another a few days later, they responded to that and sent me a return note to fill in and a postage label.
Got an email yesterday saying they'd received the item and are arranging to refund my Credit Card.

the Rear GSA mudsling is now out - I guess the fitting issues stem from the whole rear subframe being totally different on the GSA model
