Fitting pannier rails.

I just bought a set of pannier rails from the site to fit to LadyTok's R1100R.

Hmmm... Rear mountings are spot on but there appears to be no forward mounting!

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge in fitting GS pannier rails to an R1100R/R850R?

Grizz reckons he took his R1100R rails off and retro-fitted directly to his GS. However, when he took a peek at the R1100R, he was also baffled.

Is there a special mounting bracket or kit to fit the rails?
