Fitting the Top Case - plate needed?

Can anyone please confirm whether or not a fitting plate or kit (other than the lock kit) is needed to fit a BMW Aluminium top case to a 2015 GSA. The adverts I've looked at are unclear.

On the GSA the Aluminium top box clamps directly to the rack with no plate in between

The water cooled GSA is classified as a K51

You can buy the box without locks if you wish?

Yep, it goes straight on the stock rack. Nothing else is needed.

Not if its a GSA TE. If it's a GS TE, you will.
