Been out for a nice long ride this afternoon... and then this warning light comes on the dashboard... and then a countdown starts like the bikes going to blow up or something.:(:(:(. Thankfully I was nearly home, and probably out of fuel...

Can anyone please advise... i dont want to have to get recovery out.. I'm hoping I can fix it as i was hoping to put the full pannier set on tomorrow and head out with my mates for a coffee somewhere...

It is probably best that you go and buy a new bike:comfort

Don't forget the pannier inners JJH

Rather than buy the BMW product I found some made of unobtanium, which although a slight overkill, I feel well worth while, as i heard Tom Cruise used the same material in his underpants...

I feel your pain. I had an almost exact relica of what you describe, I believe the fault code reads 'fuel escape from pressure vessel' if you check with a GS911. The result was the fuel running along the swingarm and catching fire on the diff thingy at the back.

The fire destroyed a perfectly well engineered piece of precision machinery in no time  If i was you i'd get it to a specalist as soon as posssible. You can usually find the nearest by ringing 999. HTH

I have actually had this problem myself....

.....but I can assure you your bike won't blow up! :comfort

BMW have installed a 'detonation prevention re-alignment widgit' to get over this problem.

So as the numbers reduce down to 1, just as you think your bike is going to explode as 0 flashes at you......your bike will cut out, and stop, as the widgit kicks in.

Apparently it's a foolproof system :augie

It dosent always work once I went 10 miles extra before the widget kicked in. I was very lucky. JJH

Yea, there is a bit of tolerance built into it....it waits for just before the point of ignition...then kicks in. :augie
