My 2014 5700mile RTLC would not start today, had to call the nice man from BMW recovery to come and jump start it.

Seems a few bikes of this vintage in the U.S. have had the same problem.

My RT is keyless, and was in the garage, steering locked and tucked up!

I measured the battery output as 5v, and when the nice man arrived he hooked it up to his van and even with 14v coming in it was five mins before the bike would start.

I've left it for longer in the past, and my ride last week was circa 150 quite spirited ride. I took it out today and out

I've just put the optimate on the bike and it's showing two yellow, very discharged, so am going to ask dealer for a new battery.

I had this problem with my last RT and it was caused by a garmin GPS charging bracket keeping the canbus alive and flattening the battery - but inconsistently. BMW were excellent an replaced the battery and ran all sorts of tests, and finally when I disconnected the bracket, the problem was solved. So check any third party accessories are canbus aware.
