I've seen it done.... i think there is a fair bit of skill to doing it well:D

This is not as difficult as some think, so here you go.

Google rage extream paints for supply (very expensive)

1/ prep panels, (abrase with grey scotch pads).

2/ the whole panel must be painted matt black first.

3/ apply two (only) light coats (dust coats) of paint.

4/ when thourghly dry apply lacquer, two coats at least.

5/ flat out imperfections with p2000 wet and dry, then restore shine with g3 compound.

Tip try and suspend panels vertically, to prevent dust settling in your work.

Good luck. :cool

the blue/purple combo must be popular as i think every flip painted bike i have seen is that:eyebrow:eyebrow

TVR painted quite a few cars in this colour, which made it popular, but the flip effect seems more noticable on this variant, so I guess thats why it is seen so much.
We did a R1 in the same colour for a local doctor about six years ago, he was pretty pleased with it, regretfully I think it was just a trophy bike to polish on sundays, never saw it on the road. :blast

Nissan did a green/blue/brown flip on Primeras a few years (8?) back. Shite!

Alfa did Nuevola Blue as a £1000-00 option on the 166 and some of their GTV and 156 2.5 models...I think TVR used it too, it was a lovely pale blue/gold/greeny colour. I used to get loads of people commenting on it when I had my 166
