Just in from my commute back to work which takes me over the lecht and the cairn 'o' mount, severe flooding pretty much everywhere from Ballater to montrose. Water a couple of feet deep in places and the link road off the Cairn towards Aboyne has all but gone:eek: road washed away and it looks like a river running across the road, lots of crap and landslide rubble over the roads too, coupled with high winds, Pretty much the worst conditions I have ever ridden in, took me nearly a hour more than usual. Well impressed with the bike though, it was ridden through numerous floods, nearly up to my knees in places and it never missed a beat. I even stopped to help rescue a stranded driver whos car conked out in deep water and was blocking the road. They wanted me to go to a farm and get a farmer to tow them out with a tractor, I said I'd give them a hand to push it clear but as water was above the door sills they were reluctant to get out. Eventually they climbed out the windows and we pushed it clear:thumb Fettercairn area is in a bad way too, a lot of concerned looking residents watching the water creep closer to their houses and the main road in is under about 8" of water and it's still raining. I think the bike definetly had the advantage tonight:thumb

Sittin in Bervie, been chuckin it down all day, can imagine its a bit damp on the Cairn o Mount road
See what it looks like at 6.30 in the morn

Sounds like you need to tap into bm's marketing for the 800.Bet no one uses the GS 800 for a comute like you. Mibee get a free service:augie

aye, looking forward to seeing how the 800 handles in the snaw compared to my old gsa, if it gets too bad i'll hae tae take the coast road to work. But at the moment I'm designing a snorkle for the air intake and exhaust:augie
